ARE WE EVER OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW BETTER?

One of the great mysteries of life

is why we continue to err right up to the point where we eventually get dying right.

In a perfect world, wouldn't life be all about making mistakes until you learn not to make them?

Just this morning, I made the same silly mistake I've made maybe two dozen times now. Without leaving me open to the ridicule I deserve, let's just say it involved a computer and a too-quick-on-the-trigger send button.

And that wasn't my only stupid mistake today.

Here I am, age 72 (going on 110 or 40, depending on how the weather treats my arthritis) and I'm still stumbling through life, often making the same mistakes I made just the day before.

Know what I mean?

1. Our unpredictable inconsistencies are what make us cute!
We are all in the same boat.

2. Mistakes are a part of life.
We're ok as long as we can continue to find new and improved mistakes to make.

At 72 you get to make mistakes you didn't make at 22.

3. Old enough to know better?
I certainly hope not.
I grew slowly into maturity and found I really didn't care for it.
Will be 61 this summer, retired last May, and I'm treasuring every hour of this time of life.

I hope I never again "grow up" - I really hated it.
Have a great day.
Mark
