Sometimes when I watch DVD's of old television programs, I imagine

that I'm actually watching the program on TV for the first time. The TV I watch has vacuum tubes, I have an outdoor antenna, Eisenhower is in the White House...Anyone else ever do this?

I know that time period had its down side. It wasn't so great if you were member of a minority or a woman. There was the fear of atomic war. And McCarthism.

1. A cable channel has old tv shows and they show old
commercials. I am surprised at how many commercials I remember from when I was 8 or 9. It definitely does take you back. It was a time of both innocence and huge fears.

2. Something similar
When I see a movie or show set in a different time period, I think about what it would be like to live in that setting, how I would feel, what I would wear, etc.

4. But teh olde peoples need a quite place.
Your not the only one who noticed that.

All I can think was that it was at the OP's request.

I thought it was an interesting op.

6. Unless it was requested by the OP, I find it odd too.
What? The Lounge is only for subjects the young'uns can relate to?

Better watch out, flvegan, or your SNL threads will get moved to "Seniors" too.

10. I love some of the old radio shows! I don't remember them, but have heard some on cassette.

Especially I like JACK BENNY and SUSPENSE.
