Granny, 72, Having A Baby With Her Grandson
A grandmother has shocked her friends and family after revealing she is having a baby with her own grandson. Skip related content

Pearl Carter, 72, says she has never been happier after beginning an incestuous relationship with her 26-year-old grandchild Phil Bailey.

The pensioner, from Indiana, US, is using her pension to pay a surrogate mother so they can have a child, reports New Zealand's New Idea magazine.

She said: "I'm not interested in anyone else's opinion. I am in love with Phil and he's in love with me.

1. Reminds me of the song "I'm My Own Grandpa".

Many, many years ago when I was twenty-three
I was married
to a widow who was pretty as could be
This widow had a grownup daughter
who had hair of red
My father fell in love with her, and soon they too were wed

This made my Dad my son-in-law and really changed my life
For now my daughter was my mother, 'cause she was my father's wife
And to complicate the matter, even though it brought me joy,
I soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy

My little baby then became a brother-in-law to Dad
And so became my uncle, though it made me very sad
For if he were my uncle, then that also made him brother
Of the widow's grownup daughter, who was of course my stepmother

Father's wife then had a son who kept them on the run
And he became my grandchild, for he was my daughter's son
My wife is now my mother's mother, and it makes me blue
Because although she is my wife, she's my grandmother too

Now if my wife is my grandmother, then I'm her grandchild
And every time I think of it, it nearly drives me wild
'Cause now I have become the strangest case you ever saw
As husband of my grandmother, I am my own grandpa

I'm my own grandpa,
I'm my own grandpa,
It sounds funny, I know
But it really is so
I'm my own grandpa

13. Wouldn't his grandmother's offspring be an aunt or uncle to him? I'm confused.
This is a sick story on many levels. I have a grandson who is really good looking, smart and has a good personality, but eeeewwwwww!

19. Yeah, most of us react with an icky doodle
over this one, but all the people involved are adults and are capable of making their own bad decisions.

Since the baby isn't being produced as a result of incest, there is no genetic risk over and above any ordinary risk.

I just wonder if the guy realizes he's going to be a single dad and what that will entail.

I also think this story doesn't completely pass the sniff test and there is probably a lot more to it.

However, they're adults and I need to mind my own damned business.

26. From what I understand...
The father would also be the grandfather to the child. The son would be his son and his grandson. He would still be the grandnephew to his 'wife', as well as being her husband.

When the child grew up he would have a mother and a great grandmother all in the same woman. And if the child was a female and eventually married her dad, the husband of its mother, then she would be his daughter and wife, but also be her father's aunt. If she had offspring her, oh god I can't take it any more. My brain just short circuited, fried, I'm taking a valium...

as creepy as it is. consenting adults, you know.

although i hope she doesn't have that goddamn baby, i find it hard to imagine the kid growing up sane.

also has anyone had the stomach to read the whole of that article?

i quit at:

It was during their second week together, after dinner and wine, that Pearl made her move.

"I called Phil into my bedroom, sat him on the bed, and then I leant over and kissed him," she added.

"I expected rejection but instead he kissed me back."

And I thought it was interesting that my grandmother's sister married my great-grandfather. Nothing like this case.

33. This Is WONDERFUL!
I am very happy that Pearl Carter has found true love, and is, for the first time in years, sexually alive.

Life without love is a very unhappy life. So GOOD FOR HER!

Both Pearl (the grandmother) and Phil (the grandson) are adults, and both consent to this relationship.

Best wishes to both Phil and Pearl (and to their child!)

34. This is a real phenomenon called Genetic Sexual Attraction, that occurs when relatives are reunited
They often feel an overwhelming attraction to each other. It has to do with not having been exposed to them as a child. Very weird.
