Sometimes I go on Google Earth and look at my childhood home, and other areas in the town where I

grew up. (It hasn't changed much.)

It makes me feel the way Scrooge must have felt when the Ghost of Xmas Past was showing him around.

1. I've done the same thing even if it's just a satellite picture. My grandfather's
house has a nice front view. I love Google Earth.

2. I did that for my mother's childhood home, and the place I
lived as an infant until my father got back from WWII. She was amazed that I could find the house and get a photo of it on the internet. Street view had a great image of the house. I printed a nice copy of the image, and she has it framed and on her wall. Her parents lived in the house until the late 1960s, and it hasn't changed very much still. At 86, that image was important to her, and brought up all sorts of nostalgic feelings.

Cool beans! Thanks Google and Street View.

3. I put this in my previous post, but don't forget Street View
in Google Maps. You can usually get a great image of the house there, from street level. In most places, anyhow.
