Ok, another grandkids story. Or two.
When Charlotte was 2, someone asked her where daddy worked.
(He's an attorney.)
"He works at the garage."

See...every day she kissed him goodbye and he walked out to the garage.
That evening he reappeared from the garage.
She assumed he spent the whole day out there.

"Where's daddy?"
Daddy went to Chicago on business for a couple of days.
Mommy explained to Charlotte that daddy would be in Chicago tonight, tomorrow, and the next day, in Chicago. He'd be home Thursday evening.

Wednesday morning Charlotte asked, "When is daddy coming home from Costco?"
Costco...Chicago...
OK, I get it.
:-)

2. This was told by a teacher on the Aussie show "Big Ideas" (I think)
Litte Miss 5 walks up. Holds up one hand. And in that serious way they have: "This is five." Up goes this other hand: "This is 5 too."

Teacher figures right: Teaching moment here. I'm on. So she asks, "And what do you get when you put them together?"

Up came the hands, thumbs side by side, and the fingers flapped, "Butterfy!"

4. Charlotte thinks we live at the airport.
That's where she always comes with Mommy to get us.
Any time they go to the airport she asks if we're there.
