We pay 20% of our S/S retirement benefits for Medicare coverage.
We pay more in one month than FL governor Rick Scott pays IN A YEAR!

"TALLAHASSEE, Florida — Gov. Rick Scott, a critic of the federal health care overhaul, is paying less than $400 a year for health insurance for himself and his wife."
http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/politics/os-rick-scott-health-insurance-20110811,0,2467524.story

That ain't right.

Here are our numbers:

MEDICARE COSTS:

BASIC $96.50 X 2 = $193/MO.
PLAN 'G' SUPPLEMENTAL
ME: $110.63/MO
WIFE: $88.27/MO

PART 'D' (Drugs)
ME: $42.80/M0
Wife: $39.80

TOTAL HEALTH INS: $474.50

TOTAL MONTHLY S/S RETIREMENT BENEFIT (Both of us): $2355

Note: My wife takes NO prescription drugs. We were advised by a doctor friend that she should go ahead and sign up for coverage now, because
1. It is more expensive for each year you defer, and
2. Someday she may need VERY expensive medications.
jeez

I am mad as hell!
:grr:

1. Why Rick Scott has not been indicted
even if it's a local prosecutor, he should be indicted for everything A-Z and imprisoned with no chance of parole, confined in a solitary confinement with no contact except for the local wildlife.

3. These numbers are so important. How has this "debate" been allowed to go on without
being rooted in this reality? Thanks.

5. Roughly in the same boat you're in, trof..
We pay the same for medicare, but $339 for supplement which
includes partial drug payment but since we both need a few
prescription drugs (and some are expensive) that requires at least
$300 a month extra that isn't covered. Total health costs add up somewhere around eight to nine
hundred a month. Total SS is $2980. And some folks think we
are getting a "free ride"....mad as hell on the west coast, too........z
