One of the Bush/Snow/GOP/Media lies is that we have a problem because there is this large unfunded liability as defined by the Soc Sec folks as to the excess of the value of future promises over the size of the current trust fund plus future scheduled contributions.

WELL GUESS WHAT!!!!

In 1971 the number was 11 times the value of the then Trust Fund - meaning in 33 years we have become better funded - and by the way - the system did not collapse!

:toast:

1. Yes, I Understand the System is $1.5 Trillion in the Black
due to the bipartisan effort in the early 80s. That was before Republicans went off the deep end.

2. and that is with no ss deductions on income above $80,000.00
That is the very FIRST place to increase funding of the reserves. Conveniently left out by all of Reagan's 'reforms' in the 80's.
