Experts Find Evidence of Bosnia Pyramid

VISOKO, Bosnia-Herzegovina - Researchers in Bosnia on Wednesday unearthed the first solid evidence that an ancient pyramid lies hidden beneath a massive hill — a series of geometrically cut stone slabs that could form part of the structure's sloping surface.

Archaeologists and other experts began digging into the sides of the mysterious hill near the central Bosnian town of Visoko last week. On Wednesday, the digging revealed large stone blocks on one side that the leader of the team believes are the outer layer of the pyramid.

"These are the first uncovered walls of the pyramid," said Semir Osmanagic, a Bosnian archaeologist who studied the pyramids of Latin America for 15 years.

Osmanagic said Wednesday's discovery significantly bolsters his theory that the 650-meter (2,120-foot) hill rising above the small town of Visoko is actually a step pyramid — the first found in Europe.

13. Not quite sure about this after seeing the photos

The photos so far claim to show massive stone blocks, but I don't see the difference in their trenches between what they are calling stone blocks and what appears to be weathered bedrock.

But that's just my opinion of what is shown in the photos. I definitely would love to see what the guy's research design is for testing. Hopefully it's not just "Dig a bunch of holes and claim success!"

He needs to expose a wider area to show more of these blocks, needs to demonstrate tool marks on the blocks, etc.

The tunnels I buy, but I think he still needs to demonstrate more clearly that these are pyramids.I thought that one earlier idea about them were that they were natural hills that were modified into pyramids.
