in GD...I know there's a TON of threads and posting going on today, but still.... I'm saddened that it sank without a single reply, even while the GBLT-subject thread that inspired me is big news? Are women's lives that meaningless here?

I'm going to read your post now but I have to say, I watched Obama's speech on the formation of the Council for Women and Girls live and was incredibly inspired by it.

ETA: Sorry, didn't realize the post was that old. Anyway, yes it is encouraging to believe that someone takes women's issues seriously again (just not GD). :hi:
