Really Boehner/Steele? Fair Pay Act is a Hoax?

"The bill is a cruel hoax. It won't empower women who face pay discrimination, but it will empower trial lawyers whose junk lawsuits will clog up the courts and make it hard for businesses to grow and hire," said Michael Steel, spokesman for House Republican leader John Boehner of Ohio

Uh - how about this FINALLY at last passes and instead . . . corporations proactive do the RIGHT thing?

You know - God Bless Lily Ledbetter's heart. And thanks to those six women suing Wal-Mart. But it's time. The time is now.

We've waited long enough.

And for the record - one more reason for me to detest Boehner and Steele. Do these men not have daughters? Did their mothers not work? What part of justanothergen had a man working FOR her that made 10K more than her do they not understand?????

You betcha I'm waiting. And I still have his salary sheet. And the minute this passes I'm meeting with HR. Don't care - they can't fire me when it does.

1. repuke = misogynist. There is the irony of all these batshit crazy females being

touted by the repukes and teabaggers..

Those women are figuratively being given shovels, told to dig holes in the ground, and they do not even know that they themselves are going to be kicked into those holes.

Yet another case of people being manipulated by the repukes into voting for and supporting issues that are against their own best interests.

2. I'll never understand it . . .
This is the most BASIC equalizer after suffrage and access to education.

What's the point in the advanced degree if you have to pay it off for another ten years? You know - I'm not a 'feminist' per se. I follow Sojourner Truth: If women want 'rights' we best be taking 'em. Don't ask - just take. Don't be a nice girl and cater to this group and that group - just take your American Dream.

Women are losing out on 700K to 2 Million dollars a year because our education combined with vaginas amounts to squat. Don't get me wrong - when I was offered the job above I mentioned?

I did go back AND received more prior to accepting the position. But how could I have known that there was a male employee PRIOR to accepting the offer that was making more money than me???? And when I questioned it? A lot of bullshit thrown my way.

Point blank - I'm also black. I'd like the media to stop focusing on the eff-up NotSoBright Bart and focus on this ONE issue that could change the lives of women currently employed - and help them get out of the hole faster when the economy turns around for EVERYONE (not just the folks at the top).

Every woman in America is impacted by this bill. And those who are married and/or have children? They too are impacted by this bill.

3. But it is OK to junk up the courts with those frivolous lawsuits
for debt collection. And the article I read said some of the debts had been written off by the company. This law firm in cohorts with the company buying up the debts is doing all the suing. And most of the debts are ready to expire. This is supposed to be against the law according to the new credit bill congress passed. I don't know for sure what that is all about I read the article on one of the newspaper sites.

6. The Fair Pay Act already passed - it was the first bill that Pres. Obama signed.

The CRA also has been in effect for many years - and you seem to have a basis for filing under it (I'm not a lawyer). The Equal Pay Act applies only when you hold the same job, but the CRA may protect you here. You should start the conversation with HR now--maybe talk to your state's equal employment opportunity office, or a lawyer, as well.

on edit - I realize your post is old but if this is still an issue, see:
