hey, it's "women's history month"
I happened to see that on the site for Fort Hays State University which I might visit tomorrow. They linked to this site:

http://www.biography.com/womenshistory/

Surprisingly, the biographies there had most of my favorites Jeanette Rankin, Emma Goldman, Charlotte Perkins Gilman, and Emily Greene Balch. No mention of Vida Dutton Scudder. I have collected about six of her books, and named my latest dog Vida. I am not sure if it is an honor to have a dog named after you, but it is meant to remember her. Double meaning too, since the dog is half BLUE heeler. (Vida Blue being the 1972 Cy Young award winner).

A link to a site about Vida Scudder, if anyone is interested.
