Look at this, a stalker's dream come true
Ever worry about your wife cheating?

Want to know where your daughter is late at night?

Need to know when your girlfriend's temperature is rising?

This amazing device will answer all of your questions! These panties can give you her location, and even her temperature and heart rate, and she will never even know it's there! Unlike the cumbersome and uncomfortable chastity belts of the past, these panties are 100% cotton, and use cutting-edge technology to help you protect what matters most.

I wonder how many women will get killed because of these things before somebody decides maybe they weren't such a good idea, after all.

Note that there is no equivalent for men.

8. I disagree.
I though a male, have NEVER cheated on any significant other. I even being in love with someone, refused to sleep with anyone till my feelings had faded (over 2 years). I have however been cheated on. I disapprove of men who do so, and have chastised my brother for being the sleazeball that he is.

Fidelity and monogamy are not outrageous concepts, nor are they solely related to gender. I am single, straight, and do hope for a healthy monogamous relationship. I am however hesitant to make myself vulnerable after having caught my S.O. w/ another man. It's been a year and 2 months, and I still feel safest alone.

Note I said he is my ex-husband.

9. Here's a similar product - marketed to women
and a real product - not a hoax

New semen tracer stains
more than reputations

By Mark Schreiber
Contributing Writer

May 4, 2002

During the Middle Ages, legend has it that when dashing knights rode off to war, they left their wives strapped into beltlike devices that made any straying from their marital vows exceedingly uncomfortable, if not downright impossible. But with a little help from chemistry -- and a new product named "S-Check" -- today's women may be gaining the upper hand.

This latest weapon in the war between the sexes was developed by Safety Tantei-sha, an Osaka investigation agency. It consists of two aerosol containers which, when sprayed onto a man's undershorts, will reveal any telltale traces of semen from a recent episode of intercourse.

"First you spray the contents from 'A' on his undershorts," explains Takeshi Makino, president of Safety Tanteisha. "Then after two or three minutes, you spray 'B.' Any secretions of semen on the shorts will glow green.

<snip>

At 35,000 yen a set, S-Check does not come cheap; but it's still far more economical than paying an agency to tail a suspect for one full week, charges for which run about 500,000 yen. Makino says his company sells 200 sets a month, to clientele he says are "99 percent" female.

You have a problem recognizing the very real problems that affect only women, don't you?

You are either unable or unwilling to acknowledge these issues so instead you post what you obviously consider to be equitable treatment of men by women.

If I didn't think my post would get deleted, I'd tell you to get over it.

Note that there is no equivalent for men.

When there is - and a real product to boot - not a hoax like these panties are.

You have a problem recognizing the very real problems that affect only women, don't you?

Actually no, especially with the current admin. and the unknown future of the Supreme Court. REAL issues, such as the right to chose are in great danger. We really only have differ on a few subjects. But the fact is this product is a HOAX, which doesn't make it a real hot button issue. Besides, if these were real, do you think a couple gets up in the morning and the man tells the lady "gee honey, why don't you wear those new undies I got for you today - don't worry about the beeping..."

I'm sure there will be thousands of men murdered by their female partners now that they will have the evidence of infidelity they require to justify their violent and obsessive jealous rage.:sarcasm:

OK. Assuming this was a real product, any woman whose man requested she wear these should run as fast she can from the guy.

You are either unable or unwilling to acknowledge these issues so instead you post what you obviously consider to be equitable treatment of men by women.

You know, the only issue that this post brings up that I don't understand is why any woman who is being abused would stick around. Economic issues aside, even in the small city I am in there is a battered women's shelter. Anyone in an abusive relationship should get out. It's the only option. I'm trying to be honest here, try not to flame me too much

If I didn't think my post would get deleted, I'd tell you to get over it.

The next time you see a post from me, try not to read too much into it. You obviously have some problems with me, and some preconceived notions about who I am, so pretend it is from someone else and see if you take it a little differently.

27. yeah, and never mind the fact that....
the president of the company that makes this semen-detector thing is a man, and I'm willing to bet most of the scientists who developed it are men. So much for women oppressing men. :eyes: Plus, the article points out that this thing can also be used on women (hmmm, wonder why they didn't make more of THAT?!?) and I'd imagine it's much more reliable that way, because a guy could get semen on his underwear from masturbating. So this device really has a disparate impact on women when you think about the fact that it's more credible when used on them and they're more likely to get beaten for adultery.

It's also interesting to note that if you do a Google search, you get hardly any hits for this thing. A Lexis-Nexis newspaper search turns up nothing at all. So despite the PR-ish article here, is it really all that popular?

36. Why do you assume we're all stupid here?
Edited on Mon Jun-06-05 05:57 PM by chicaloca
The page you linked to contains a search for any page with the words "semen" and "detector," NOT for the phrase "semen detector". If you search for the actual phrase, the number of hits goes down from over 60,000 to 178. For the love of whatever pornographic deity you worship, STOP FUCKING LYING TO EVERYBODY HERE.

Furthermore, you say you didn't post the semen detector story as an attempt to show that women oppress men. In other words, what you posted has NOTHING to do with women's rights or issues. It's about men's rights as usual with you. However, you're in a women's rights forum. READ the title of this forum before you post and ask yourself, "is this topic relevant to women's rights and issues?" In most cases, your answer should be a resounding "no." If you want to have a discussion about the semen detector, post it in the lounge. There are plenty of places on DU where the type of conversations you want to have are acceptable; why do you continuously come to the one place where it's not acceptable? Or are you so goddamn saturated in privilege that you can't possibly accept that there might be a place where you, even though you're a man, AREN'T welcome? Just think about all the places on DU where women and particularly people who've been victims of sexual violence aren't welcome -- the lounge, GD, even some LBN threads. Why is it so difficult for you to accept that there's one tiny part of the universe where you're not welcome? Are you that fucking arrogant?

No wait, don't answer that. I already know the answer.

On edit: As an example of just how off topic some of the pages turned up in Mongo's search are, check this one out. It's about how to maintain your cow herd's reproductive health. How does that relate to the semen detector again?

Or are you so goddamn saturated in privilege that you can't possibly accept that there might be a place where you, even though you're a man, AREN'T welcome?

It's just stupid to keep coming back to the one place you're not welcome and then whine that nobody likes you. But if you want to, fine. You haven't changed anybody's mind, and unless you learn to argue without being condescending and dishonest, you're not going to.

And I didn't attack anything you said on the second stalker thread. Why are you addressing this to me? Am I suddenly responsible for what every other person on DU writes to you?

"Hell, in other threads I can't even address real issues affecting women without being personally attacked." (emphasis mine)

You seem to have admitted here that you know full well that most of the other issues you bring up (other than one comment about need for change in stalking laws) are either irrelevant or offensive to women. So now we know without a doubt that you know perfectly well that you're not concerned with making things better for women.

19. Someone might have misinterpreted something, true.
As happens a lot in GD. I've seen Onion articles that caused quite the uproar!

But the underlying point I believe is that more men commit adultery than women. So what, right? But the evidence of violence against women who are caught fooling around compared to men fooling around is quite one-sided. And while women might file for divorce, men quite often use their fists.

Yeah, there is that woman who ran over her husband in her Mercedes...

I think this needs another thread, since this situation is not true.

But I have never heard a woman say she doesn't let her husband masturbate. Maybe some fundies say that, but you know damn well we ain't fundies here.

As a smut purveyor (your words) you must enjoy the fact that some men "hide" their porn collection. What does that say about honesty and sexuality between men and women? Perhaps you should recognize that often when a man is having a dysfunctional sex life with his female partner, that possibly it could be that HE is doing something wrong. Hmmmm?

Maybe it isn't always the fault of the female that the men need to use and hide their porn, but the fact that the unrealistic situations in most porn make their female partners look incompetent or prudish.

sexual topics on the Oxygen Network. Jennifer Berman is a gynecologist and her sister Laura is a therapist.

No, I think it's sad mostly. If a couple is having a dysfunctional sex life, it could be either, or more likely, both partners fault. Men don't tend to prefer porn over sex with their life partner unless there are other serious problems in the relationship.

Maybe it isn't always the fault of the female that the men need to use and hide their porn, but the fact that the unrealistic situations in most porn make their female partners look incompetent or prudish.

Porn is FANTASY. Watching The Terminator doesn't make me feel like a wimp. Why should watching porn make women feel incompetent or prudish? Don't even answer that - I wasn't trying to turn this into another thread about porn.

37. "Watching The Terminator doesn't make me feel like a wimp."
Really? Well, I congratulate you on your unshakeable self-confidence. Must be great to be so unaffected by media manipulation and difficult to understand why others allow themselves to be. Why, what weak-willed fools the rest of us are!! I mean, good thing for the marketers that 99.99998% of the population does not possess remarkable fortitude that you and Daisy have (noticed it in her posts too), lest the billions they spend to relentlessly push images designed to make men and women feel physically and sexually inadequate would be for naught. What's your secret?

But, wait...There also seems to be a tiny chink in the mighty armor of self-assurance. Why does it hurt you so that feminists on a Women's Rights and Issues Forum disagree with you? On more than one occasion you have complained of being personally attacked on this forum. Seems awfully sensitive, considering not even the Terminator can make you feel like a wimp. Why do you care what we think? Are we THAT powerful? More powerful than the Terminator? Wow. We're pretty cool...

Oh yeah, you need to defend porn from "unfair characterizations" by feminists on a liberal discussion board because right wing fundies want to throw you in jail. Is it just me, or does that make NO FUCKING SENSE AT ALL? You know what? I think porn sucks and people who use porn are lame. And if that seems judgemental, wah fucking wah, it's an OPINION. As a medium it demeans and objectifies people, and as an industry it pays it workers shit. I also think some of the same things about Wal-Mart. That being said, I'm not trying to put you or the manager of my local Wal-Mart in jail. And neither is anyone else on this forum. Focus on the Family wants to nail your hide, not us and you know it. So what are you really afraid of? That criticism of porn might get through to people and they'll stop buying it?

In a previous post you said that you couldn't understand why a battered wife would stay with an abusive husband. Well, you claim you're being picked on by feminists on a Women's Rights and Issues Forum. And yet you keep coming back. Why is that? Kinda ironic, dontcha think?

Finally, one of the primary characteristics of a bully is lack of empathy. Just sayin'

39. That's what pissed me off.
I didn't understand why somebody would push porn in a women's forum.
I went to a women's clinic yesterday afternoon.
It was a great place, relaxed, quiet and comfortable.
While I was waiting for my doctor, I browsed through the magazines and books they had on hand.
You know what I didn't see?
Pornography.
Because it would be offensive, inappropriate, insensitive, ignorant and just plain stupid to have it there.
Women go there for all different reasons including abortions, miscarriages, family planning, counseling and prenatal care.
You don't force women to look at skin mags when they go there.
Just like you shouldn't see it in this forum.
It's not about free speech, it's about emotional cruelty.

42. I sit on the bleeding edge of the first amendment
And I risk arrest every fucking day, just so I can sell a lonely man a movie, or a couple a movie to spice things up, or a woman a vibrator, or a couple a toy or lube or whatever.

And I'm hated for it by elements of BOTH the left and right. I am just trying to make my case heard, here on the left. Perhaps you are not trying to throw me in jail like FOTF, CWA, etc., but when it is attacked on a left wing board like DU, you only further their cause.

And I don't know if you've noticed, but outside of this forum, there are many, MANY DU'ers of both genders that enjoy adult entertainment and do not see it as being the cornerstone of some great conspiracy against women.

Remember Anthony Comstock? Our first great censor of the mails and media? He went after Margaret Sanger, condoms distributed in the mail, information about birth control and sexual health, etc. So the fact is that even though you find porn distasteful, you may have a personal stake in the matter.

As far as misconceptions, lookie here's one:
and as an industry it pays it workers shit

Women performers make way more than men in porn, but the performers in general make $300 - $1000 (or more for stars) per day.

Clerks in porn stores generally make considerably more than clerks in other stores. In the old style stores, they have to put up with considerable BS (which I am not BTW), and even in my little two-bit podunk store, my ONE employee is making more an hour than he has ever made in his life, and he is 56 years old.

44. Of course not, the only liberties WORTH defending are the ones
that YOU care about.

45. Puh-leeeze.
You poor thing, how hard it must be to be so maligned.
Poor poor Mongo, nobody cares that he's risking his life to save porn.
:nopity:
You're protecting your business and your fondness for smut which is hardly the same as fighting for me or my rights.
Thomas Paine you ain't.
Like I said before, I ain't buying it.
And from the looks of this forum, nobody else is either.

46. Um, yeah. To ME they are the only ones worth defending.
What's your point there? Why do I HAVE to actively defend all forms of speech because I believe in freedom of speech? What about MY freedom to have an opinion about something? Are you saying I should pretend to think porn is great, because any other position is a direct threat to your civil liberties? Gee, that's not very free is it? Or logical.
And once again, since it's clearly not getting through...

CRITICISM IS NOT CENSORSHIP!!!

Defend your own industry, from those who actually threaten its existence, i.e., fundies. I'm not making any money on it and it's sure as shit not benefitting me in any way. So no, I'm not going to "sit on the bleeding edge of the First Amendment" with you over porn. Sorry, but there are other more pressing civil liberties issues that command my attention like, you know, the Patriot Act. That one could get all of us here at DU thrown in the slammer after the feds seize our Internet activity records and charge us as terrorists because we've dared to insult the Chimperor.

Why don't you get some of those "poor lonely" men who buy porn from you to get out there and protest the forces of censorship with you? Maybe they just need to get out of the house a little....

49. HOLY SHIT!!
Jesus H. Christ talk about an overblown sense of self-importance!! I just re-read this post and it's truly amazing.

And I risk arrest every fucking day, just so I can sell a lonely man a movie, or a couple a movie to spice things up, or a woman a vibrator, or a couple a toy or lube or whatever.

Oh please. Why is this our fault? Any business venture involves assuming risk. When you choose to sell porn in Bumfuck, you risk evoking the moral indignation of some of the locals. Either suck it up and deal or pull up stakes and move somewhere more sophisticated. Whining on this discussion board about it will not get you sympathy.

but when it is attacked on a left wing board like DU, you only further their cause.

Really. Pray tell, Mongo, how then shall we speak of your beloved industry on this site, such that we don't risk furthering the wrong cause? Must stay "on message" you know. Maybe you have some good "talking points" for us? I'm not real good at parroting talking points, though, so perhaps I should log on to Free Republic and get some pointers from them about that.

So the fact is that even though you find porn distasteful, you may have a personal stake in the matter.

Yep, got it. Thanks to you showing me the light, I now realize that the expression of any negative opinions on porn by anyone, even feminists on a Women's Rights and Issues discussion forum, will ultimately lead to all women losing their reproductive freedom. Check. Porn is good...Porn is good...Porn is good.... How's that? Am I getting it? But gee whiz Mongo, your version of free speech doesn't feel very free. Guess I'll just have to keep trying until I get my thinking right.

Women performers make way more than men in porn, but the performers in general make $300 - $1000 (or more for stars) per day.

Well so much for that 'glass ceiling' b.s. huh? Porn is Good....
