I need ideas. I need to raise $2500. to secure a venue for a fundraiser

The venue is first rate and we can raise some dough. I think I just need a little help getting jump started.

1. Bake sale? Silent auction (you get local stores to donate stuff in exchange for

free advertising). That's all I can think of.

2. Sell raffle tickets

Make the prize something you and your group can do - a day of yard work or babysitting or something.

6. I am my group, i.e., the group is already overwhelmed so I'm doing this

on my own for a non profit. They have too much on their hands already.

But, trade out is a good idea. I'll have to think about that.

Two years ago, I put a benefit together at the Great Music Hall here. It was truly a community event and everyone stepped up to make it work. But this year, I need the seed money.

3. Is it possible to do one here on DU?

Maybe raffle something off here. Maybe even GET something to raffle off from a DUer?

I don't know what the procedure is for getting a charity thread up, but certainly, your name is good around here.

4. Impeach at the beach t shirts and post cards

Post cards should have N. Pelosi's mailing address. You charge cost + $1.00 each and mail them with the contributers (or their designees, as in send one in memoriam, etc.) name. I bet you could easily sell 2,500 of em at any of the venues that carried the beach story.

Oh yeah, put me down for 2 xxl shirts and 10 cards.

something -- not sure what. But, he's putting up a storefront in Oakland. He seriously needs to take your idea and run with it because he'll need the dough for expenses.

9. I've thought of making calls to potential sponsors.

Like to Craig Newmark, who is a love and to other community minded people. But, I keep thinking, they must be inundated.

I don't know of a more pressing problem in San Francisco than homelessness.

Maybe tomorrow morning, I will just make calls and ask and see what happens. I usually don't drink before 6pm, though. lol
