"Culture of Death" GOP-style: 100,000/yr hmless die fm heat,cold,rat bites

hunger.

The GOP has started a meme accusing us of 'a culture of death" over this Schiavo issue.

But the label has always belonged on the GOP.

Pls add to my list of evidence:

1. 1OO,OOO homeless die/yr from heat, cold, rat bites, hunger. They die at three times the normal rate. Children are the largest single group within the homeless. Bush's new budget will add 2 million to the current 3 million living on a piece of sidewalk. {SF Chronicle}. Mass homelessness began in the early '8O's when Reagan cut 2/3's from the housing voucher program. {wages now lower than when reaganomics began, {adjusted for inflation}, so reaganomics is a flop. Toss it.}

2. 225 starved to death in NYC in the first 3 years of the GOP's Great Depression. {Hospital records.} Who knows how many across the entire country, and during the rest of the Great Depression years?

3. 1,500 dead, in this Iraq oil war.

4. 12 million go hungry in the US, and Bush's new budget plans to up that to 13 million by cutting food stamps. The polite word the GOP uses for its plan is food stamp "shortfall." A cynically planned cut is not a shortfall. With US wealth at 109 trillion, there is no need for any cut to any democratic program.
See bottom line of this link http://www.federalreserve.gov/releases/z1/current/accessible/l5.htm

Hunger --> Lowered Resistance --> Disease --> Death.

{footnote: there are one million homeless on any one night. But over the course of a year, three million are homeless for short periods. They fall into homelessness and rise out again. This is called churning, as some fall into homelessness for a while, rise out, and others fall into it.
Other causes of homeless deaths:
1. crime: they have no way to avoid wandering criminals.
2. health: no way to keep any medicine away from thieves
3. health: hospitals for the poor "have lower standards, less modern equipment", due to GOP funding cuts. }

Please add to my list of evidence.

2. Good Post Oscar....
I suspected dems would be labeled the culture of death if they egged on the death of a disabled woman. But, as you say, THEY are the perpetrators of death in that they (besides the religious)the neo fascist GOP don't give a DAMN about disabled, sick,homeless, jobs, or anyone else that struggles in this society.

All this hoopla over Ms Schiavo,on thier part, was merely an attempt to keep their 'BASE' happy; they don't give a shit what happens to the weakest among us.

I hope my fellow dems understand this clearly. Lately I'm not so sure.
