Slumdog kid's home is broken down
Mohammad Azharuddin may have won international fame, thanks to his Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire, but his life is far from perfect. His shanty in Garib Nagar in Bandra, a Mumbai suburb, was torn down by the Brihanmumbai Mahanagar Palika (BMC) early this morning.

The young lad, who won accolades for his performance as Salim in the film, was seen among debris of his home.

I feel so sad and helpless that poor people don't even get a chance. Corruption is India's biggest obstacle in it's search for developed nation status. And i don't want to blame the producers of the movie for not doing enough. I think by financing Azhar's education, they have done enough. It is the good old politician round the corner who hasn't done enough.

2. nope ...
the parents & relatives will milk the last penny from the kid's fame but nothing will go to improving the living conditions of the kid. If the kid moved to a better place, the media will lose interest in the kids and the relatives will lose money.

3. I still believe, based upon how many millions they made from this film
that they need to lift these actors totally out of poverty for good. I don't care what the contract said. I saw an interview with the older actors and the director and they were totally shocked at the movie's success. So now that they have raked it in, it's time to start being fair about spreading the wealth. This isn't a frivolous issue.
