Vegan breakfast foods
I'm on a breakfast food kick. The other day I had waffles for lunch, today it was pancakes (maybe I'm just on a maple syrup kick?) I have a craving for tempeh bacon- I'm thinking I'll make that and some of the fronch toast out of VWAV tues or weds. While I'm on this breakfast binge sas anybody got any good recipes for breakfast foods they care to share?

Well, it's all natural peanut butter and jelly and yummy whole grain toast but that's about as fancy as I get.

Usually, I need my food fast and easy in the morning. I also lean toward the starchy and sweet.

But when I want to make a yummy breakfast on the weekend, nothing beats vegan crepes with some sweetened whipped tofu for the filling. Poached pears go pretty well on the side. :)

with green and red peppers, diced onions and some sliced mushrooms and top off with a few dashes of hot sauce :-). Add a couple of pieces of whole grain toast.

I don't marinate the tofu, just press it and cube it.

9. LOL! I just found a peanut butter "kiss" in a co-workers candy jar!
I LOVE PEANUT BUTTER!!!

In fudge, in cookies, in thai dishes, on crackers, on toast, in ice cream, etc.

When I was little I was a very picky eater and my mom says that the doctor told her that as long as I was eating peanut butter I'd be OK.

10. Peanut Butter Tofu Dip is terrific
I blend peanut butter, tofu, and garlic in the food processor for a great dip. Depending on the peanut butter you may need to add a little oil to lighten it up a big.

It's great with fresh veggies!

It's basicly just tempeh sliced up and pan fried. It only resembles bacon in that it's savory.

17. My healthy breakfast drink.
I put this together to lower my cholesterol which it did 70 points after two months. I'm now adding extra fiber. Your results will vary. The key here is to use what you have/ use what you like. Everyday is different for me. I use organic whenever I can. All ingredients are optional.

Into a blender, put
one cup of rolled oats, (a couple of handfuls)
one or two tablespoons of bran, (corn is highest in fiber though impossible to find, wheat is a very close second.)
any herbs or spices you like. I use cinnamon, nutmeg, sliced ginger, a clove of garlic, curry, a hot pepper, zatar, whatever I have in the kitchen.
a dash of vanilla
a tiny pinch of salt
one and a half cups of apple cider or juice, not from concentrate

Blend on liquify for about a minute.

Then add
a good squeeze of flax seed oil
any fruit
a good splash or more of soy milk, milk or a serving of yoghurt
a couple of olives, not water pack. I add five which gives me one gram of fiber.

Blend on a low speed for about 10 seconds or so. If you over-blend this, the fats will solidify and you'll have a less than satisfying drink.

Adjust for liquid and correct the seasoning if you care. Blend one final time for just a couple of seconds.

Makes a good 24 ounces or so. I big drink for one or a modest serving for two. This usually fills me up for hours.

18. In the second blend, I also add a heaping T. of nut butter.
