National Hunting And Fishing Day Sept. 23
President George W. Bush has released a video address commemorating the 35th anniversary of National Hunting and Fishing Day, set for Sept. 23.
In the short video, Bush thanks hunters and anglers for their leader-ship in conservation. Bush and his father, former President George Bush Sr., are both avid anglers and hunters.
“As in many families, my parents introduced me to the outdoors, and my dad is one of my best hunting and fishing partners. Hunting and fishing are a good way to pass on to our chil-dren and grandchildren our respect for the splendor of America and the importance of conservation,” Bush stated in the video.
The four-minute video can be viewed online at www.nhfday.org.
National Hunting and Fishing Day, adopted by Congress in 1971, seeks to celebrate the conservation successes of hunters and anglers.
