Fans at the CWS might have had trouble figuring out the banner trailing the plane that flew over Rosenblatt Stadium shortly before game time.
The message read: Protect Seals - Don't Buy Canadian Snow Crab."
The United States Humane Society and local activists sponsored the message in an effort to apply pressure on the Canadian government.

W-H News Extra: CWS 2006
It was a wacky night at the old ballyard, and maybe that was fitting, what with this unconventional College World Series final between Oregon State and North Carolina.
It started as a perfect night for baseball, our national pastime, at the CWS, our city's pastime. But it turned out to be anything but normal.
First, and foremost, there was the pregame fly-over. No, Offutt was not in the house. No Blue Angels, no Maverick, no Goose.
It was a plane with one of those banners flapping behind. Except, when you looked at it, and you had to look twice, the banner didn't say "Eat More Steak" or "Only 58 days, 23 hours 'til kickoff."
It said, "Save the Seals, Ban the Canadian Crab."
Well, there you have it.
I didn't know Omaha had an issue with Canadian Crabs. But what do I know? I have kids. I never get out to eat anymore.
Anyway, in the top of the third, Oregon State had a home run taken away when a fan in the left field bleachers leaned over and caught it with his glove - under the yellow line. In other words, had the ball been left alone, it would have hit the wall below the home run line.
