Where has anyone said that everyone should be a vegetarian.

It would be nice, but I haven't seen anybody push this on anyone. When even pointing out the advantages of being a veg*n is considered flamebate then the omnivores are just a bit too touchy.

This lock was unnecessary, I'm going to talk to the moderators about it, but once again (as I've said to many of the regulars in this forum, and as is clearly written in our rules which everyone agreed to when they joined DU), I wish you would have just sent me a polite PM asking me to check into it.
