Scrappy a dachshund-spaniel mix was killed by an infuriated man.
Scrappy was an innocent dog that was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was killed by his owners ex husband. The ex-husband was upset that his ex wife filled a restraining order against him, in response he decided to take his anger out on her beloved dog Scrappy. The man slit scrappy's throat and let Scrappy bleed for hours, until he died. One officer that arrived at the scence said that he found Scrappy between a coffee table and a couch, and as Scrappy lay dying on the floor gasping for breath he followed the officer's movements with his eyes. He suffered alone for hours! Scrappy never had a chance! Please bring him justice. Please urge the district attorney to push for the maximum sentence. UPDATE!!! I have been correseponding by email with Karen Olsen, (District Attorney) and she is very concerned (as we are) about getting the maximum sentence allowed in this case. Vanthof pleaded no contest in his criminal complaint on August 24th, the court found him guilty and convicted him. He is scheduled for a sentencing hearing on Nov. 14th. Olsen will seek the maximum sentence, and she believes this petition will have a great impact on the final decision. Please sign and tell all of your friends about this petition.
