SHAC activists sentenced to prison. 6 years for Kjonaas.

I posted this in LBN, too, but I don't know if it'll be seen as LBN. I think it's important, as these three folks were convicted of "conspiracy" and "stalking" and not for any physical actions that the SHAC campaign as invoked or prompted. Pretty stiff sentence, considering.

I'm not a big fan of some of the tactics that some activists have used in the SHAC campaign, however I think that this is absolutely insane.

I don't even know what to say. I think they'll do well on appeal, but I can't stand the idea of people having to languish in prison until somebody gets around to recognizing thier rights.

I can't even express how outraged I am that so much of the law exists exclusively to protect corporations from responsibility and criticism.

I wish more of the left would see this. Protection of corporations is the base of the GOP, largely.

I don't know a single AR activist that isn't also active politically. Unite under one banner, I say. Agree on what we can, disagree in another forum.
