Don't Pass Over This Frozen Kosher Eggplant - Vegan Delight!
If you have a Kosher section in your grocery freezer, see if they have Macabee brand eggplant cutlets.

I just tried these and I really love them! They are vegan but have a nice eggplant parmesan seasoning to them. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. These are breaded and fried eggplant slices with no sauce or anything.

You just pop them in the toaster oven for 15 minutes or so until they're browned and crunchy. They don't taste frozen AT ALL!

Good with pasta & tomato sauce of course, but we had them on garlic bread as an open-faced sandwich topped with fresh tomato and basil.

I see on their site they also have eggplant "fingers" you can use for dipping, that would be a great appetizer to bring for upcoming holiday parties! Check it out here:

Peaceful Wednesday to all!

1. Ooh, those look good
My fiance would like those pizzas. (I'm allergic to dairy.) I also love the frozen breaded eggplant cutlets that Trader Joe's sells. Yummy! :9

2. We Have A Kosher Pizzeria By My House
Edited on Wed Sep-20-06 01:17 PM by K8-EEE
My carnivorous husband was perplexed that the pepperoni was soy because he thought it just wouldn't have pork in it -- but they can't mix meat & milk so those are good haunts for lacto vegetarians to get a pepperoni pizza fix! Even my hub had to admit it was pretty good.

3. They're making amazing soy fake meat products now
(With the exception of hot dogs - somehow those tofu dogs just don't quite measure up.) So even omnivores who just want to occasionally eat healthier can get a meat fix too, like on a pizza. :)

4. You're SOOO Right On The Faux Hot Dogs....
Blech!! My dad loves the frozen corn dogs from Trader Joe's but he drowns them in hot mustard, LOL. I haven't had the courage to try them after my last tofu dog. The sausage is really good though! They used to have these soy chorizo & potato taquitos at trader joes, where'd they go? Mine never has them anymore.

5. They switch out their products a lot, I guess
I can't seem to find my beloved mango granola there either. :(

I haven't tried their veggie corn dogs, but my fiance is interested in them, I thought I'd try them next time I stopped in there just so he can satisfy his curiosity. :D

9. Try Quorn hotdogs....
...they're not soy, but made from a fungus. They are very good. Best imitation hotdogs I've eaten. Also, their fake chicken is the best imitation chicken I've ever had.

10. Never had their hot dogs before
But I do like their other stuff. Just had ground Quorn in homemade pasta sauce last night, as a matter of fact. Thanks for the tip!
