I've been radicalized by the torture bill.

I have been veg*n off an on for about ten years. I always felt like I would probably go back to it permanently, make a commitment to put all my beliefs together logically and stop eating animals and contributing to the suffering in the world.

Now I don't want to compromise anymore. I am going to live according to my own conscience from now on. I am going to keep protesting and speaking out. Today I threw out all the meat in my house, even though it's the end of the month and I have $0.62 to my name. I am eating hominy and beans for dinner.

Peace.

Edited to add: by my subject line, I did not mean to imply that veg*anism is radical in the sense that it is fanatical. Just that it is radical in that it is taking a bold stand.

1. That's a pretty high calling...
Living according to your conscience, that is.

When I hear/read/see things like this, it energizes me. Especially when it's someone I already have the utmost respect for, such as yourself.

Going veg* in whatever form is kinda radical, in that it goes against the very grain we (or at least most of us) are raised from. But then, you know what they say about dissent...

2. Thanks!
:hi:

I tried last year when I got back to the USA and was freed from the tyrannical oversight of my ex. But I, obviously, resumed meat-eating. Now, however, I cannot. I have crossed the line in the sand.
