Please, no more torture

Somebody, please tell me how to want to continue in a world where the pain of small things doesn't matter.

1. Check your PM.
In addition to that, I want to share with you (and hopefully other folks will read this) something I heard (and am now paraphrasing) not too long ago from someone here...

If you leave, this will all still go on. Be it in the world, or just here on DU (I watched you recently swinging it out a couple times in the latest batch of threads, and doing very well), or amongst your inner circle, this shit will continue. Only, without you, it'll go on with one less voice against it, with one less voice for them.

2. Dear AG, having just come from GD, I am right there with you.
I didn't post in those hideous threads. I just cried.

Sometimes it seems the forces against us are just so overwhelming. Even our so-called fellow "progressives" just don't get it.

But it's like flvegan says, we're needed here. I don't understand the mysteries of life and purpose and all that, and sometimes the pain seems unbearable....

3. I'm trying to respond in those threads
with compassion for the undereducated. Just like human politics, the more we educate, the better chance we have to change some hearts and minds .... hang in there

4. I admire all who participate in these threads & speak for the animals.
I am overcome with such rage & hatred toward my own species, I fear I would have nothing constructive to say.

This harsh, cruel world is especially hard for those with tender hearts.
