New Promotion Highlights Best Friends at Indianapolis May 15, 2007 : 11:21 AM ET
Best Friends is set to drop the green flag for a new promotion involving professional race car driver Andrew Prendeville, whose Indy Pro Series car is adorned with the Best Friends logo.
Indy Pro is the official development series of IndyCar, which means it’s where racing teams and drivers hone their skills in an effort to reach the highest level of racing, including the legendary Indianapolis 500.
Andrew, 25, has quickly driven his way up through national racing circuits, winning 12 of the 59 races he started and finishing in the top five an incredible 46 times. He drives for the Andersen Racing team, which is affiliated with Rahal Letterman Racing, owned by former Indy 500 champion Bobby Rahal and late-night television talk show host David Letterman.
As Andrew prepared for his first season driving Indy Pro, the Morristown, N.J. native was looking for a worthy charity to ride with him. His mother suggested Best Friends, where she was a long-time member. After visiting the sanctuary, which he described as “an amazing place with such amazing people,” he decided to donate space on his car to Best Friends.
