1. Actually organized by the Culture and Animals Foundation
This is the 22nd annual conference, as noted in the original post. These conferences were originated and organized by Tom Regan's Culture and Animals Foundation.

I was able to attend one of these conferences about a decade ago, and it was the best of any animal rights or vegetarian conference that I have ever attended, with the possible exception of the March for the Animals in D.C. in 1990.

Tom Regan is a brilliant writer and pioneer in establishing the firm philosophical foundations of animal rights. Vegetarians and advocates for the animals should endeavor to become acquainted with his works.

Highly recommended.

4. I didn't add the link for Culture and Animals Foundation
Here is the link for CAF: http://www.cultureandanimals.org/

They have a 6 page pdf brochure about this year's conference that can be viewed, downloaded or printed.

"Learning about Gandhi's ideas had a novel challenge that went
directly to the habits of our life. It was as if he wanted to know
how we could oppose unnecessary violence when humans are the
victims and support this same kind of unnecessary violence when
the victims are animals. The deeper Gandhi's truth sank in, the
more committed we became to the struggle for animal rights. In
our small way, we became the change we wished to see in the
world, which is an aspiration and a challenge we believe anyone
can achieve." — Nancy and Tom Regan

5. I'm really amused by the idea of somebody normally seen in an Iron Maiden shirt and cargo shorts
hosting a fashion show. :D
