My response from Freeman labs on their natural no animal ingredients shampoo
Edited on Thu Aug-16-07 07:00 PM by peacebuzzard
I was in doubt, because their Papaya Lime shampoo/conditioner has a label stating no animal ingredients but an ingredient peg blahblah 12 peg 12 blah blah lanolin. We all know what that is. (poor wretched sheep, sigh...)

I bought it anyway,(and later returned) checked the ingredient on google and verified the ingredient as animal derived byproduct. I sent an email inquiry to Freeman Labs and received this positive response back:

Thank you for writing us.

We always committed to include no animal derived ingredients in our
products. We believed that the Lanolin included in our Papaya/Lime
Conditioner was a synthetic. But upon further investigation we now
understand that this is not case and have already reformulated the product.
The glycerin is vegetable based.

Once the new formula is complete, we would like to send you a sample. Please
forward your address and we shall do so.

Thank you for your support of Freeman Beauty Labs

1. 2 things...
1. Wow, I'm actually shocked by the honesty. I'd send a response, though, to ensure that the entire product is as advertised (critter-free);

2. I love your sigline.

2. thanks, I was also shocked they responded.
my search for cruelty free products is a constant shopping factor.

My next research will be for household cleaning products. I need to find inexpensive products that clean and sanitize without the myriad lab research/experimentation/government subsidized funding (and thus the required lab yes, required! animal testing.

I just can't go down the supermarket aisles anymore with all those neat orderly cleaning products without thinking of the nightmares behind those sanitized packages.
