Earthlings: It may be worth 95 minutes of your time
This was recommended by Robert Cohen, whom some of you probably know as the originator of www.NotMilk.com.

I have only had time to browse portions of it, but seeing no post in this forum about it, I thought it worth a mention.

Here is what Cohen emailed to me:

Got 95 Minutes?

Did you ever take the Lay's potato chip challenge?
"Bet you can't eat just one!"

Well, I bet you can't watch this 95-minute
video. Me? I was unable to turn my eyes away.

EARTHLINGS -
Narrated by Joaquin Phoenix. Music by Moby.
Written, Produced, and Directed by Shaun Monson

http://veg-tv.info/Earthlings

"Of all the films I have ever made, this is the one
that gets people talking the most. For every one
person who sees EARTHLINGS, they will tell three."
- Joaquin Phoenix, actor/narrator

"If I could make everyone in the world see one
film, I'd make then see EARTHLINGS."
- Peter Singer, author Animal Liberation

"EARTHLINGS is the definitive film of all time
that Americans don't want to see."
- Gretchen Wyler, The Humane Society of USA

"For those who watch EARTHLINGS, the world
will never be the same."
- Tom Regan, author A Case for Animal Rights

4. cry and cry and cry until there are no more tears
I cannot watch it all. I don't know what the end message is, I can't get to the end. Will someone brave tell me?

I used to think- if people only knew. This is when I was young and new to agriculture. But the actual horror is that a whole lot of people really do know and choose to do nothing about it.

And whenever anyone writes anything about respect for animals and humane treatment for animals people have these spoiled brat tantrums about food needing to be cheap and affordable. As though cheap meat is some sort of right. That huge groups of people and entire industries need to make sure that animals live a tortured lives and have a death of misery so that they can eat meat 3 x per day.

6. I can't watch it.
At work a few years ago, a group of employees were standing around the reception desk & one person was telling about the book "Fast Food Nation." The general consensus was, "I don't want to read that cuz I don't want to know." The sad thing is, I think if they read the book they wouldn't change their diets, but on occasion, they would feel guilty about it. And as time goes on they wouldn't even feel guilty.

Ignorance is bliss for many people.

Welcome to the veg forum, Tumbulu.

7. I have this but I can't watch
I'm too disappointed in my species.. like dangerous hatred I'm starting to feel. I ordered the dvd and it's sat here for months. It's not me who needs to see it so much, I'm keeping it around in case I can ever get some of my family to watch it.

9. I had to hit the stop button to catch my breath for a few days
and I thank you for the link.

I will go back to it but for days now, since I first initiated the play button up to the part where the hourly worker was dragging and throwing the doomed dogs over the wall to the gas chamber I am just meditating and praying for all the sentient beings scheduled to their horrible deaths by human hands.
