Zantrex diet pills
A couple of days ago a customer returned a bottle of Zantrex 3 diet pills. She said they'd been making her nauseus, and as an experiment she put one in a glass of water. The pill expanded in size and then burst, leaving a rubbery coating behind undissolved.

So she called the manufacturer and asked about the pill's coating. She was horrified when they reassured her it's "all natural" pig intestine! This unappetizing ingredient isn't listed *anywhere* on the label. Not only is this a problem for vegetarians, but the fact that it's pig parts makes it treyf and haram, and there are potential allergy problems.

If you know anyone using Zantrex, let them know about this! I think the company that makes it is deliberately concealing the nature of its pill coatings because many people would be grossed-out by the thought of intestine-wrapped diet pills.

1. Oh that is so gross!
Can they do that? I mean, use something like pig and NOT list it? I would think that it would be against some sort of FDA regulation?? I don't know anyone taking it, but I will let anyone know if they mention it! :puke:

2. Well, gelatin isn't any better, IMO
And gelatin is extremely common in the world of pills. Gelatin, of course, is made from the skins and bones of pigs and cows.

If this is true of Zantrex, I think that the practice of leaving such ingredients off the label is illegal.

3. I'm definitely not an expert...
But I'd be willing to guess that Zantrex is considered a supplement, and is completely unregulated.

Unethical, yes, DEFINITELY. Illegal, unfortunately I doubt it.

4. Maybe they're preparing a new ad slogan...
Zantrex 3 -- lose weight while you pig-out!

O.K., that was lame, I know...
