How nice that they started the "hunt" early this year. Announced it yesterday, I believe. I know HSUS is on site to document it. I'm hoping they'll do what they can to get footage to submit to the EU Parliament for the April vote.
The Farley Mowat is still under arrest, so there's no Sea Shepherd this year.
And oh, how precious the fisheries minister *cough* asshole *cough* is. An increase of 55,000 seals to the quota raises the number to 338,000 this year.
Canada increases seal hunt quota

Canada has announced that it will increase this year's quota for its annual seal hunt, even as the European Union moves closer to imposing a ban on seal products.
The fisheries minister says another 55,000 seals will be hunted this year, bringing the total quota to 338,000.
The ministry says it reached that figure after consulting scientists on how to ensure that the seal population of 6.5 million is maintained.
Canada's Humane Society has criticised the Government's decision, saying the last time the quota was set this high the number of harp seals fell by two-thirds within a decade.
