New yummy vegan product!
You know those Food For Life Baking Company kids? They make those kickass Ezekiel/Genesis/sprouted breads and buns you find in the freezer section. Anyway, they've gone into the faux meat biz it seems. Today at Whole Foods I saw their new Cluckphrey and Moophrey products in the freezer along with the usual Boca stuff. Figured I'd give the fake chicken stuff a whirl. I sampled one of the patties and a couple of the nuggets for lunch just to see so I could come blab about them here.

Very tasty. I had the patty on an onion roll with some Vegenaise, and the nuggets with some bbq sauce. They're about the same price as the Health is Wealth variety, and the same # of oz in comparison. Another plus was that none of the ingredients were anything I'd not want to eat. Definitely worth checking out.

1. LOVE the Ezekiel breads
so I'll have to give these a whirl. Who wouldn't like a slice of bread that gives you 6g of complete protein. And their cinnamon-raisin bread is just too dang good.

2. I need you to tell LK they're okay and I'm not trying to poison him or anything
As I've mentioned, he's sort of obsessed with the Gardenburger chick'n patties, and of late I can't find them anywhere, so I'd like to get him to try these instead, since my food co-op picked them up.

He hates change, and does not want to try them.

4. These have almost the exact same ingredient lists
as the Whole Foods popcorn nuggets (also used in their General Tsao's)

Maybe a slight bit of different seasonings..so this is actually more like Seitan?

5. My Whole Foods doesn't carry either of them, so I can't comment.
Stupid Whole Foods in Tampa.

6. I swear, I am going to get some and freeze them then Fedex them to you.
but, these new patties look to have the same type ingredients..soy protein, wheat (sounds like vital gluten etc.

Sigh....looks like I am spending money this weekend :)

I will make sure to get enough to send you...if you are interested of course!

7. These are the ones that they make onsite, right?
Thanks for the thought, but then I fear I'll be placing a standing order

I just need to go down there and scream at somebody about it. I think I'll do that tomorrow.

9. That store is smaller than my closet, they can't stock much of anything, I'd bet.
Learn to make your own damned seitan, slacker.

Here, seitan peperoni. Never say I never gave you anything. http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/2007/04/veggeroni-seitan-pepperoni.html
