to try Madeline's Bistro (yummy beyond belief) I sat down and noticed the white haired man at the table next to us wearing a sweatshirt with the words "sea shepherd"
running down the arm. I wasn't positive it was him until more people showed up and a few started calling him "Paul." We mentioned something to the waitress and she said she worked catering the night before at a fundraiser.

By the time we left there were about 14 people sitting there. I assume many were crew members, and some certainly work for the network that produces "Whale Wars" which I have not seen yet.
Some look familiar from this page

When we left, my fiance stopped by and mentioned to Capt. Watson that he is a hero to us and the work he is doing is important to the world. I was too shy and went past him. Paul seemed to be happy that we recognized him and got a big grin on his face.

God, it was amazing. I was thinking that here he was, someone who is considered a terrorist by many groups, just having brunch with his "posse." I was happy to see he doesn't have to travel with security.

And yes, that porcini tofu benedict was absolutely to die for!

1. How awesome!
I don't care what some folks say, sometimes meeting those you consider a hero is an event to savor.

2. AWESOME!!!!
I signed up to be a monthly donor after reading about their heroics here on DU. They are nuts, but in a GOOD way! LOL! Nuts as in NO FEAR! The accounts of their open water confrontations are absolutely amazing!
