1. Veganique is pretty good as I recall.
Hemp and rice protein, right? I think it'll make a fine meal replacement for both you and an additional strength building meal for your older son. The big thing with very tall and lean young folks is that they have to eat, eat, eat to put on muscle as well as work at least twice as hard.

Does that Medical Fitness Center have a body immersion test to pull a bodyfat percentage number? I think it would be well worth it for your 10 year old if he's genetically gifted with good musculature. Is he exercising and/or strength training? It's a tad bit young for lifting weights, but everybody is different. My mother corrected me in our last conversation in that I actually started lifting right after I turned 11. Not that it matters since considering the expert :eyes: at GNC, I'm obviously juiced to the gills.

And speaking of GNCboy, there are times that an accusation like that pisses me off. Nobody likes to be accused of cheating. But, it's also a compliment. To achieve something that another's tiny little mind can't comprehend is pretty cool. It also proves him to be an idiot. A vegan couldn't use gear even if he or she wanted to. It's not vegan. Unless I was facing death due to some awful muscle wasting disease, taking steroids would be like eating veal to me. He is right about the pro bodybuilders, though. Everyone competing at the truly professional level, ie Mr. Olympia level, is using a ton of garbage. There used to be a couple vegetarian ones a while ago, I don't think there are any now.

I'd love to meet your little GNC "friend" though if I'm ever up there. I'm sure he enjoys his employee discount, but I'd be happy to point out that I get my supplements at COST because they, like my gym, sponsor me. All I have to do is wear their t-shirt to go work out. Wonder how many sponsors he has...

God, I'm mean.

2. no you're not -
you're very sweet and nice (as long as no one crosses you!)

At any rate - I don't know if you noticed I nixed the whole post on the Veganique - I just tried it and the stuff tasted AWFUL - so there's no way in hell the boyos will drink it. I didn't notice it had stevia when I bought it - it just has a terrible aftertaste to me - just like sorbitol and aspartame...

so back to the drawing board on the supplement thing. I'd like a high-fiber/lowfat/high protein - vegetarian-friendly thing - I just spent an hour surfing looking for something. But they seem to all have stevia if not the "artificial sweeteners". aaagggghhh. Maybe there's nothing out there to fit my requirements. :(

My older son doesn't eat much - he goes in spurts sometimes, but generally - no. That's why I'd like some type of easy, tasty, supplement for him.

For my younger: The Fitness Center has a "Bod Pod" - it's supposed to be even better than the immersion - http://www.bodpod.com/products/howWorkBodpod
They'll also do full body imaging. He had that done about two years ago and the guy doing the imaging said he had more muscle than he'd ever seen in a kid - and very dense bones. One of the things they will be doing additionally is "testing fitness levels" on the treadmill, etc. He's getting a fasting blood draw, too - checking insulin, thyroid, cholesterol, etc.

I mean, I know he's never ever going to be "skinny" - but he has a "pot-belly" that gets him teased and impairs his ability to perform flat out. He's still a fast runner, but not nearly as fast (relatively) as he used to be before the weight gain the past three years. I just want him to be as healthy - and as happy - as possible.

3. If I can make a suggestion
Not vegan by any means, but vegetarian is BSN's Syntha-6. I don't think it has any artificial sweeteners, and BSN is an excellent company as far as delivering on a promise. BSN may or may not be a GNC-sold product. You may need to find it at another store or on the intertubes. Bodybuilding.com will most definitely stock it, but I'd check around for price.

Probolic makes a great product, but it contains fish parts.
