I love mashed potatoes. What do I do?
How can I replace the butter and sour cream I usually use to make them?

1. That's an easy one
These products are amazing:

Earth Balance margarine

and...

Tofutti Sour Cream

Easily just as good (some people claim better) than the real thing.

16. Go to Amazon
and order "Giant Book of Tofu Cooking" by K. Lee Evans and Chris Rankin. There are recipes in it for tofu based dishes that are usually done with dairy and eggs. There's a terriffic tofu sour cream recipe and some kickass pudding recipes.

10. Veggie Broth?
I am an omnivore, and to reduce the fat I have used chicken broth.
Just watch the sodium content on some of those canned broths.

Has anyone ever tried silken tofu? I actually have a recipie for Vegan Sour Cream, but it has honey in it.

13. Technically, No
It is not, I got the recipie from Seventh Day Adventists, and apparently, they are not AS strict.

However can't you substitute brown rice syrup?

14. Brown rice syrup or really whatever sweetner you like should be fine
Some people who refer to themselves as vegans are not as strict about insect issues and wouldn't have a problem with the honey but with other sweetner options available I personally don't miss it. I hardly ever used it for anything anyway.
