The Veg Edge.
Let me preface this with this fact: I don't watch food/cooking shows. Ever. Normally, it's a bunch of folks cramming garbage in their pie holes. If I had the choice, my cable provider wouldn't provide any channel that was all about food.

Until tonight.

Totally stumbled over it. On The Cooking Channel, a new show (first episode?) tonight. Called The Veg Edge. On the show, we meet veg*n chefs, customers, caterers...and lots of omnis enjoying good veg food. It's brilliant! Just watching the food these folks are making...I'm famished. It looks like it'll be a series from the website. At any rate, it's on again later tonight.

Here's the schedule for the series:

* December 09, 2010 9:00 PM
* December 09, 2010 1:00 AM
* December 24, 2010 8:00 PM
* December 24, 2010 12:00 AM
* December 26, 2010 5:00 PM
* December 27, 2010 9:00 PM
* December 27, 2010 1:00 AM
* January 01, 2011 9:00 AM
* January 02, 2011 7:00 PM

Here's the link to info about the show (note the recipes!!!!)

1. I was trying to figure out what channel this was specifically,
because I don't recall it in my Dish lineup. I did find that they were created by the Food Network, so I hope this show remains on their lineup :)

From their About page:

Cooking Channel is an entertainment brand dedicated to today's passionate food lover. From the creators of Food Network, it's for food people, by food people. We throw open the doors for this audience on TV and online, sparking the conversations that fuel people's passion for food and cooking. Dynamic experts offer depth and detailed information including unconventional how-tos, global cuisine, wines and spirits, international travel, history and hidden gems, and even some classic favorites. Cooking Channel — stay hungry.

I also found "Create TV" on one of the digital PBS stations my parents get around Austin. I don't get that one in Houston, which sucks, because they have a vegetarian show as well:

Delicious TV: Totally Vegetarian
Join host Toni Fiore in the new cooking series Delicious TV: Totally Vegetarian. Toni's culinary style is casual and Mediterranean with emphasis on easily prepared fresh ingredients. Delicious TV offers not just recipes but the facts, delights and challenges of the vegetarian lifestyle as well as invaluable advice on the latest trends in vegetarian food.
