Please help me identify these plants
I planted the seeds of the first plant. Didn't write down what they were. Maybe herbs of some kind?

Second plant just started growing on my balcony. Eventually pulled I it up. Wondering what it is. A weed?

Thanks

1. one looks like chives
that would be the one with the flowers on top and the long leaves. When you pinch it does it smell like onion? the other looks like some mint maybe? or some lemon basil. what does it smell like?

4. Chives are not a weed and they grow and spread almost anywhere
very good on baked potatoes served wit sour cream. they have the smell and taste somewhat of an onion. Those look like they are going to bloom. They will have pretty purple flowers, if you don't use them (it's the stalks you chop), they will go to seed and continue to spread. The other one you pulled up, unfortunately, you'll never know.

6. #2 wasn't a chive. #1 is definitely something I planted from seed. Will smell it tonight.

3. Plant #2 is a nut-sedge or sand sedge.
Its a weed. A handsome weed, to be sure, but a weed.

5. I let it grow hoping it was something I planted that would bear fruit, gave up and pulled it.
Yes, that's it. Found pics online under that name. THANKS.

7. There are no 'weeds'
My guy, the one and only John Greenlee (google him) says it is only a weed if you think it is a weed.

Native Americans did not even have a concept or term for 'weed'.

10. #1 looks to me like mint but the pic is too small...
to appreciate what it is. Also, it could be oregano. You might have to smell the leaves to tell.

#2 - I have no clue.
