I'm clinically obese.

Even though I've been vegan for years I never lost weight. In fact I gained so much that my 3x jacket was getting tight on me.

When Paul went to the hospital and they told him that his heart was weak and that he, too, needed to lose weight we started examining what we eat and trying to figure out how we got to where we are.

We've been eating a lot more vegetables as our side dish. We've been eating smaller portions and still coming away satisfied. We try to watch the labels a lot better. We're using our Wii Fit Plus and I'm trying to walk faster at work (normally it would take me 30 minutes to walk the mile but now got it down to 17 as a brisk walk). On some days I take the stairs up.

And we're finally losing weight.

Wish me luck! :)

1. Best of luck to you, sir.
I am on a similar journey. I have been doing weight watchers for 4 weeks and am down 23 pounds. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

2. Best of luck, Will. I suggest increasing your morning protein intake.
Have you seen these?

Personally, I find that I do better (purely for weight loss) on a low-carb vegan diet, rather than a low-fat one. But it's certainly easier to take your existing vegan diet and make a few changes to transform it into a low-fat one.

3. Good to hear, and good luck to you brother.
As well as to Paul.

4. Best of luck. I have fought the battle of the bulge most
of my life. But since I turned vegetarian almost 15 years ago, I have not had a weight problem. But I an out of shape and could use some firming up.

5. Update (in case anyone wants one)...
Today I reached my lowest weight in a very long time. The Wii Fit has a measure that shows your current weight and where you fall on the scale. I've moved down in the column. Still at the original level but much lower on the bar.
