Do you shop at PetSmart?
I'm running out of options for places to get pet supplies. PetCo is out, as is PetLand. The local, private owned pet stores sell dogs and cats. So I thought PetSmart was ok.

Anyway, I was at my local PetSmart and I see, not only do they sell Beta vases, they have several "decorating" the store. So I asked to speak with the manager who absolutely refused to believe that these things were incredibly cruel and more importantly, refused to take them down. So that's that.

Are there any good pet supply places on the web?

2. For supplies, we like
kvvet (www.kvvet.com). Shipping is super-fast, and the prices are cheaper than Petsmart.

For food, we either get Wow-Bow off the net, or we go to Petsmart. There isn't another option that I know of here where the shipping for veggie dog food wouldn't do us in. Our Petsmart management avoids me when I come in, as they know I'll have something to say about the fish/pocket pets/IAMS, etc. On the flip side, they do a lot of good for the animals in my community (had to put a good word in, to be fair).

3. I shop at Petsmart.
I buy my food at the local natural market, and litter at the grocery store, but for cat boxes, carriers, etc. I do still go to Petsmart. Despite my disagreement with some of the products they stock, they also operate and promote the local CARE adoption program, so they aren't all bad.

4. I also shop at Petsmart.
There is one in my neighborhood close to my house, so it is convenient. Plus, the county humane society holds local adoptions there. So as you said, they can't be all bad.

5. Question about "beta vases" ...
Okay, I'm normally pretty up on animal cruelty subjects - but what's the deal w/ beta vases? What are they, and why are they cruel?

Thanks!
