This is an e-mail I received from Stu Chaifetz, Director of Animal Protection, PAC. He was instrumental in stopping the bear hunt in New Jersey last year.


Dear friends,

Do you want Jon Corzine to know that animals matter to you? Do you want the Democratic Party to see that the animal protection community is a strong, viable force in the coming election? Then join with us as we put animals on the political map as has never been done before!

On July 23, the Animal Protection PAC is holding a "House Party for Jon
Corzine." These parties are designed by the Corzine campaign to bring people into the political process, and that is exactly what we are going to do. Just a few hours of your time at this fun, free event will play a critical role in
whether or not animals will be considered as an issue during the election.

We have been told that if Senator Corzine's schedule allows, he will be there.
However, either Federal or State legislators, most likely both, will be attending our party. We can be assured, therefore, that people of importance will see and hear our message. Imagine these prominent politicians arrive expecting to see the usual 40 or 50 people, and instead witness two or three times that amount. The significance and political weight given to animals would be incalculable, but this will only happen if you show up. This point cannot be stressed enough; the PAC created this opportunity, but without your active support, the desired effect will whisper away.

The only way we will win for animals is if we stop playing by the rules set by
our opponents and begin to write our own. This event is just such a thing. If we have a large turnout, then it will leave an indelible mark on both the Corzine campaign and the Democratic Party that the cause of animal protection will be consequential for election victories this November.

This House Party is how we circumvent the biased newspaper editorials and all those who destroy animals for profit and pleasure. This is your chance to be pro-active for animals. This is your chance to personally be heard.
