Favorite Animal Rights Quotes:
I'll start:

"Anyone who has accustomed himself to regard the life of any
living creature as worthless is
in danger of arriving also at the idea of worthless human
lives."
~Dr. Albert Schweitzer

By Rousseau.

"The animals you eat are not those who devour others; you do not eat the carnivorous beasts, you take them as your pattern. You only hunger after sweet and gentle creatures who harm no one, which follow you, serve you, and are devoured by you as the reward of their service."

2. That's beautiful living....
...and reminded me I have my sig thingy turned off because I'm on dial-up and threads load so much faster for me. I think mine is still the 'mad as hell' one?

7. St. Francis -
Edited on Mon Jul-18-05 03:06 PM by 4_Legs_Good
"All creatures are created from the same paternal heartbeat of God. Not to hurt our humble brethren is our first duty to them, but to stop here is a complete misapprehension of the intentions of providence. We have a higher mission. God wishes that we should succour them when they require it."

St Francis of Assisi 1182-1226

And here's a good one from John XXIII

"Man must never hurt animals, must never ill-treat them nor torture them physically because they are sensitive creatures. If anyone told me that to achieve my purpose it would be sufficient to kill an ant, I would not do it."

Pope John XXIII 1958-1963

Having religious quotes are always good to use against people who think that God created animals for us to eat.
