I made a post here earlier, entitled something like "Guess who's back in GD" and it was in reference to a DUer that posted the latest info on the PETA duo that has charges pending against them. It was in reference to a DUer, whom, I selfishly think may harbor ulterior motives. I linked to the thread, of course, here:

I realize now that this could be seen as "calling out" another poster. This is, of course, against the rules, and I know better. I didn't mean it that way, I simply wanted to call attention to a thread that might have exploded or imploded based on responses. Many of us have chimed in on this specific topic in the past. Oh, hell, many of us have the scars from the flamewars that this specific topic has ignited. Regardless, my thread has been nuked, and I believe that it was an appropriate nuke, not that my opinion on that matters. I saw the OP when it went up, and through either anticipation or some deviant defensive excitement, I went into alert mode. The worst part is, not only do I know better, but I know better AND I moderate myself better.

I just wanted to say that I'm sorry. Sorry to the Group here, which is such a positive Group, and such a positive influence on the veg/AR aspect here at DU. I'm sorry Elad, as I know that my acting like a 3 year old wasn't your intent starting this group, and you probably suffer through more $hit than any of us around here, since you're likely on DU damn near 24/7 anyway. I'm also sorry to the OP, with whom I will continue to disagree on probably just about everything. However, I need to remember my forums, and where I am when I post, and show due respect to a comrade in the push to return our country to a democracy.

I have nothing but respect for all of you, this Group, and the mods and admin of DU, as well as the progressives, liberals and dems that make up the DU, and I'm thankful that I have a place like DU to go. I apologize to all of you for my actions here, as those actions don't help the animals, DU, our political affiliations, nor any of us, even on a personal level.

I saw that PETA thread today and ignored it hoping it would go away. I think most people did too. I clicked on it after one post. That was enough. :eyes:

We all understand why you posted it, even the mods that had to pull it, I'm sure. It is a very emotional subject for all of us, and the poking sticks that some people carry around just make it much more difficult.

I don't think anyone here will hold it against you. I know I won't! :hug:

6. I can understand your frustration.

When it comes to the animals, everything seems so unfair. They are truly a mistreated "nation" that deserves protection.
For most people, it is not an issue.
This is frustrating for those who do care.
I know I have felt the same way. So, do I shun everyone? I slip all the time. But I am trying to be patient, with gentle suggestions and soft discussions perhaps we can do more. But it is not easy.
P.S.
I am trying to maintain my composure w/ a potential business acquaintance who wants to use fur & Asian leather with her fashion designs. We are initially discussing some business ventures, but I have already outlined my stance on the animal byproducts issues. It is going to be a long drawn out subject and I will try to maintain my composure. It is not easy. Hopefully, I can educate this person in a gentle manner, and she in turn will adopt a kinder philosophy or at least acquire the awareness of the potential offensive nature of her fashion design ventures.
