But I've seen certain posters become argumentative and cause trouble on other threads. It could have been worse. But you weren't at fault and others supported you. That's what we have to do more of, here on DU, support each other. Thanks for your posts on this. Several, if not all, people learned something from you.:-)

I live in NY State where we have pretty tough animal protection laws, though we're always working to make them tougher. All my guys have been rescue, as well. My dog Sara came from Ohio, where it is still legal to gas unwanted pets. Fortunately, she got a last-minute reprieve and was brought to a rescue group here, and subsequently found me.:-)

This "hoax" did serve a purpose. A lot of people realized how they really felt about animals, some deserving pets may have found homes and you educated those who took the time to read your posts. Keep up the good work.:-)
