Anyone using the new iLife/iWork '05 yet?
I'm really curoius to see what Pages is like, can it replace MS Word?

I do DV stuff too, and the new iDVD looks sweet, but I don't really get what the new iMovie provides (how many of us have HD camcorders?)

3. They don't ship before they announce.
That's for security reasons.

4. Dunno about iWork, since they're being so cagey, but I write for a living.
I gave up on MSOffice years ago. Today I use Mariner Write, from Mariner software for most of my hard-core work, and it does pretty much everything that Word did, but with a smaller foot print and more stability. What do you need a word processor to do?

Of course, it may go away once I can get a look at Pages.

5. I dunno about that...
From what I understand, Pages is more about layout and presentation than serious text editing. I have yet to try it, so this is based totally off my perceptions from the Keynote.

9. Well, that's why I'm eagerly awaiting tomorrow's release!
Even if I find I don't like pages, I can use Keynote to build training programs.

8. I've been looking for a good word processor
Got my partner an iBook of her own so she can write her thesis, and I don't think TextEdit or AppleWorks is going to cut it, and no way am I shelling out hundreds to microsoft. I'm donloading mariner now, i'll give it a try

6. New iphoto is awesome, itunes on the other hand...
Works way better with my 2000+ photos. Scrolls fast, loads fast, lots of options!

I have been told that now only 5 people a day can listen to your shared music on itunes. Why would they do that??

12. Ordered it yesterday, and it's already two towns over, BUT...
I think they're holding it to deliver it on Monday. The UPS system gives me that date, and there's no indication that it's out for delivery. Probably because of the weather. Also, I don't recall if UPS makes Saturday deliveries.

13. It took 30 minutes to import 1046 photos into 5
Woah! Once they were in there, I fell in love with iPhoto's speed though. I love the titles on the slide show. BIG unfixed problem...you can still only choose one song to play with a slide show. My shows last longer than 3-6 minutes. Song repeats suck. Oh' well! Maybe they'll think about that for #6.

16. i think there's a way to link songs in iTunes...
some songs were designed to play into another without a break and iTunes offered an option to make a save file of a link of such files. perhaps you can link several songs in a save and then play that.

but you are right, playing a playlist is much better.

14. Got them yesterday...seems great so far!
I haven't been able to explore iWork yet, but the installation went without a hitch, and it looks good when I run it. :)

iLife appears even more spectacular. iPhoto 5 is FAST FAST FAST. The new themes in iDVD are pretty darn cool.

I'll report more later.

15. iWork is awesome!
It takes a bit to get used to, but makes it very easy to produce very professional documents... Check it out!
