So I just got a G4 Powerbook at work today
Apparently it was just laying around, no one was using it.

1.5 ghz
1 gig ram

It's just amazing the comparison between that and a 350mhz G4...

1. WOW! How did THAT happen?
And they were trying to talk you into buying a mini? Is the hard drive big enough for your Flash work?

2. 80 Gig hard drive
It was just sitting in the "storage" area and somehow my Director found out this info and offered it up to my manager who then asked, "Anyone wanna use this laptop?"

I was like, "Hell Yes!"

I couldn't believe that whole time this thing was sitting there collecting dust. Of course, when I went to start it up it wouldn't start so I told one of the IT guys and he gave me the install discs and said slick it and start over. Again, I did their job for them. Oh well, I got a kick ass (compared to what I had) computer to work on now.

I hope you've learned a lesson from the "unselling the mini" incident: Learn everything you can about your new computer so that next time you need an upgrade, no one will be qualified to argue with you. And as someone who just turned her 233hz OS9 G3 into a 1Ghz OSX-compatible G4, I can certainly relate, LOL! Congrats, but don't let your old G4 "collect dust"--it still needs a processor and RAM upgrade!

4. It's still going to be in use just not by me
I already know quite a lot about macs but since I'm just a "lowly" web designer and don't work in the IT department, what do I know...
