Are there Mac programs to block spyware?
I scan many newspapers every day and they are supposedly notorious in sending spyware. So far I knew that the Mac is immune but during the past 24 hours my Mac has slowed to a crawl or just froze on me and I wonder whether one of them finally got in.

Where can I find anti spyware programs? And will they work with Wi-Fi router?

Thanks

1. You could try Norton Internet Security
You get antivirus, firewall, privacy control, etc. Have it do a scan and configure it to handle info.

I have Norton Antivirus and Firewall, purchased separately. Haven't had any slow down issues and I'm using a wi-fi router.

2. Thanks, will look into it
I had a NetBarrier Firewall and several months ago was having problem with connectivity through the Wi-Fi router. Finally uninstalled the NetBarrier and everything has been fine since then.

3. I doubt if it's spyware
You probably just need to restart your computer, clean out your cache and repair permissions. Download a utility program like Onyx or Yasu (both free) and run these once a week.

4. Don't leave Safari open
If you've gotten into the habit of leaving Safari running all the time, you may experience slowdowns due to a memory leak. It's best to quit Safari when you are done.

Also you can follow these tips for speeding up your Mac.
