mcp needs help troubleshooting connectivity on 10.3.5

HELP!!! I just set up a wireless AP, am trying to get some iBook G4's connected to our network, and I'm having all kinds of trouble. I've tried connecting through WiFi and using the ethernet port, and I can't draw an IP through DHCP (keep getting APIPA). One of the iBooks connected via the Airport, no problemo (as well as all my eMacs), every other one has given me fits. I've connected them to known good ports on my switch, and still get 169.xxx.xxx.xxx. I get a reply when I ping the loopback. I've tried to renew the DHCP lease to no avail. I've even tried disabling and reenabling ports to force an IP renewal. Can anyone offer a solution?
