Another HP printing problem

I saw the other thread, but that isn't exactly what is happening to me. With 2 different HP printers and 2 different USB cords, the printer stops receiving the file to print.

I can get about 10 pages to print before it stops working - it just sits there thinking about starting to print (in the HP print monitor program).

I have to reset the software for it to work again - and then only for about 10 pages again. What's the deal?
I even removed all the drivers and reinstalled and it still did it.

1. How are the printers connected...

so how are the printers connect? are they attached via the back of the CPU (USB) ? Keyboard ? or USB HUB. Does the HUB have power? What is the version number for the HP UPB Drivers?

2. I tried 2 different USB cords straight into the CPU - no hub.

It will print for a short time, then keel over.

Still not fixed.
