iBook won't change. Ideas?

Hi!

My original Tangerine iBook will not charge its battery. It runs on the adaptor, but the charge status light stays green and the battery does not charge even though it is flat.

Is this likely to be a bad battery, or is the charging circuit screwed up?

1. Looks like it WAS the battery.

I drove up to CDW's will-call desk and bought a new one, and it charges.

2. Yep. Limited life span.

If it happened suddenly it might be some of the chips that control the battery. There are a couple of articles online (somewhere) about ways you can try to reset those controlling chips and maybe solve the problem.

But if the battery is your clamshell iBooks original, it's already well past the life spans of its brethren. Maybe it's time finally came?
