Firefox downloading problems
For the last few days, I can't seem to right-click and download anything. All I get is the spinning time wheel that never stops spinning. Also, my Downloads box is only reflecting stuff I downloaded a month ago and not recently downloaded material. Can anybody help me?

If it helps, I'm running 10.3.9 on a Powermac G4 with Firefox 1.0. Thanks.

1. A couple of suggestions, SA

First go here and download unlockupd which may help the spinning

beachball: http://www.dshadow.com/software/unlockupd/

Then, I would download the latest version of firefox, just on GPs. I'm using version 1.0.7. You could also have a corrupted plist file.

That's about all I can think of at the moment

2. Actually, that's the problem.
I can't download anything, whether by right-clicking or just clicking by itself. Any idea what happened?

3. Sounds like a corrupted pref file to me, but I've be wrong before.

Try this experiment: There are two plist files under user/library/preferences, org.mozilla.firefox.plist, and org.mozilla.firefox.plist.saved.

Try moving these, one at a time, to the desktop and then restart firefox after each move. If it works after moving one of them you know that's the bad file. Trash it.

If that doesn't help I'd use safari to download the latest firefox and install it. The downside of trashing a plist file is that you may lose the extensions and themes you've applied.

Also, you could go to the firefox forums on mozilla.org and search for the problem you're having.

Let me know what happens.

4. I downloaded the new Firefox version from Safari.
It's working now, and it's faster than before. Thanks! :hi:
