Best way to convert .wav to MP3?

itunes will play a .wav file, but my iPod won't. Anyone know a good converter? Preferably freeware (I don't care if it's slow, I only need three files)

I used it about 2 months ago. Look under 'Advanced', I think. My iPod would play .wav files, but they were eating up space so I converted them.
